What it costs

You had to click something to find this. That's the point. Nobody else in this category publishes a price, and you're going to ask anyway.

10 GUIDES

$11,500

$8,500 founding rate

Founding rate: 10 of 10 remaining. The first ten clients get the founding rate, keep it for life on everything they buy later, and agree to be a named reference.

Buy one guide for $1,450. If you buy any package within 60 days, we credit the whole thing.

Start with the job that worries you most. If the guide is what we said it would be, the money you spent comes off whatever you buy next. If it isn't, you spent $1,095 finding out.

The price is the guide count, and the guide count depends on how big you are.

A $3M company and a $30M company both need their money handled. At $3M, one bookkeeper does AR, AP, and cash forecasting, so that's one guide. At $30M, an AR clerk gets handed the AR guide and nothing else, so it's three.

Smaller companies have fewer, broader jobs. The price scales with the business on its own, and there's no revenue-based tier to argue about.

WHAT YOU'D DO INSTEAD

WHAT IT COSTS

WHAT YOU GET

Hire someone to own it

$110,000 to $151,000 a year, fully loaded

A person, plus three months of ramp

A fractional COO

$5,000 to $26,000 a month

Advice. The writing is still yours

A done-with-you program

$20,000 to $45,000 a year, usually two years

A system. The documents are still your homework

A technical writing agency

$5,000 to $15,000 a project

Documents, no process expertise, no rollout

SOP software

$1,500 to $18,000 a year, mostly $3,000 to $6,000

An empty shelf. You still write everything

The software you'd buy anyway costs $3,000 to $6,000 a year and comes empty. Ten finished guides, plus a year of keeping them true, costs about twice that, once.

We are not dramatically cheaper than doing it yourself.

Writing one guide internally costs somewhere around $1,150 in salary time. Sixteen hours, spread across the person who knows the work, the person who writes it up, whoever reconciles the three versions people actually use, and you.

If we quoted $400 you'd rightly want to know what we were cutting.

It finishes.

The real cost of a guide you write yourself is $1,150 times however many attempts. You already know the completion rate, which is why you're on this page.
